AI: Revolutionizing Work, Art, and Social Interactions 🤯

I chose to look at generative AI from the point of view of opportunity, but without losing a critical eye for potential risks that we have and how we will be able to have the maturity to know what is or is not healthy to evolve in innovation with a focus on improving life in society.

1. From the prompt that opened up a sea of possibilities to audiovisual

I confess that when I saw the AI model Sora I got shocked! I felt scared at first… but understanding more about the value proposition and the potential of the model, I see incredible opportunities ahead!

Introducing Sora – OpenAI’s text-to-video model

The evolution of generative AI has been exponential. I see a lot of opportunities for people who want to enhance their creativity through detailed prompts, but I’m worried about how this will be used by the audiovisual conglomerates.

Screenwriters can gain a boost in the sense that the screenplay is what gives life to the movies, for example. In this case, based on the script (which could be the prompt) the AI itself will generate videos… what are the artists in this position like? How can they participate in this ecosystem?

Although still remains many uncertainties, the undeniable potential of what lies ahead is compelling! Embracing change with a constant and critical look at how it is being used and which biases are being reinforced will be fundamental!

2. AI assistant handles two-thirds of customer service chats in its first month

Klarna is a Swedish fintech that, last month, launched an AI chatbot and generated amazing results:

* The AI assistant has had 2.3 million conversations, two-thirds of Klarna’s customer service chats
* It is doing the equivalent work of 700 full-time agents
* It is on par with human agents in regard to customer satisfaction score
* It is more accurate in errand resolution, leading to a 25% drop in repeat inquiries
* Customers now resolve their errands in less than 2 mins compared to 11 mins previously
* It’s available in 23 markets, 24/7 and communicates in more than 35 languages
* It’s estimated to drive a $40 million USD in profit improvement to Klarna in 2024

3. Impressive audio-to-video tool

Alibaba presented its impressive audio-to-video tool. By inputting an image and/or audio of a single character, EMO can generate vocal avatar videos with expressive facial expressions.

4. From text to music

The Adobe introduced generative AI that converts text to music by the company Firefly, which turns text prompts into images.

I hope these reflections can bring insights for you to reflect on the future of AI and our intentional role to be critical of what is being developed and understand our responsibility as citizens.
